3 Days and 2 Nights from Fes via Desert Sahara to Marrakech

Experience the magic of Morocco with our 3-day desert tour from Fes to Marrakech via the Sahara Desert. This journey offers a real desert adventure, including camel rides, a night in a stunning desert camp, and visits to Morocco’s most captivating sites such as Ifrane, the Cedar Forest in Azrou, Ziz Valley, Todra and Dades Gorges, Ait Benhaddou Kasbahs, the Atlas Mountains, and many more. It’s the perfect way to travel between the imperial cities of Fes and Marrakech, exploring a significant part of Morocco and enjoying a once-in-a-lifetime desert experience.

Day 1: Fes – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga – Erg Chebbi (532km)

Our adventure begins at 8:00 a.m. as we depart from Fes, heading towards Midelt through the Atlas Mountains and the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas. We pass through Ifrane, a charming ski resort, and Azrou, a notable handicraft center specializing in cedar woodwork. After arriving in Midelt for lunch, we continue our journey to Erfoud and into the desert. Upon reaching the dunes of Erg Chebbi, a short off-road trip takes us to the edge of the golden sands where camels await.

 Your luggage will be transported by 4×4 to the camp, allowing you to enjoy a beautiful camel ride over the dunes and witness a majestic Sahara sunset. On arrival at the camp, you’ll be greeted with tea and smiles before settling into your private tents, equipped with ensuite bathrooms and showers. After a delicious dinner, the evening will be filled with music and a festive atmosphere under the starry desert sky.

Day 2: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorges (304km)

Wake up early to capture the stunning sunrise and enjoy breakfast in the open air. You can return to the main road either by camel or 4×4, leaving the dunes behind. Our next stop is Erfoud, known for its fossils. We then drive through palm groves and savannah-like desert landscapes, pausing for lunch before taking a short walk in the Todra Gorges. We continue to Dades Gorge, where dinner and overnight accommodation await at a comfortable hotel.

Day 3: Dades Gorges – Skoura – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech (356km)

After breakfast, we take a short walk in the Dades Gorges before resuming our journey. We travel through the Dades Valley, known as the Valley of the Roses and the road of a thousand Kasbahs, to reach Ouarzazate. Here, we visit the famous Ait Benhaddou village, a UNESCO World Heritage site featured in films such as Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. After lunch, we drive through the Tichka Pass to arrive in Marrakech, completing our tour.
